2 Timothy 4:3-4
“For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths.”
It is easy to see the way the world is changing and conforming to various ways. These ways are different then what our ancestors knew. Our society was very family oriented with strong values and morals only a few decades ago, but now, not so much.
We only need to read the bible and become familiar with Scripture and the words of Jesus to see how far off society is from what the bible teaches. The bible tells us that the world will choose its own way; the way of the lawless one, and that it will only get worse (Matthew 24:12).
Satan is full of lies and deception. He is already here, and he is already working in the lives of many. He has made his way into the government, and into all the systems under the government. He is in the schools, in the justice system, and he is making his way into the churches. Just like the Scripture above says, “They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.”
We can go online right now and find video after video and so many websites that are teaching variations of the bible. Many of these don’t teach about Jesus as the Lord and Messiah. In fact, many don’t teach about Jesus, period. What are they teaching, then? How can they call themselves Christian without including Christ?
This is the deception of the enemy. Empty religions that only lead to death are becoming the norm, unfortunately. Nobody wants to hear that there will be a Day of Judgment and that there is a Hell and that those who don’t accept Jesus will suffer and be tormented in Hell for eternity. But this is exactly what the Word of God teaches.
Jesus will be rejected
“For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other, so it will be on the day when the Son of Man comes. But first the Son of Man must suffer terribly and be rejected by this generation.
When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day.”
As I write this article, there are evil powers at work in this world. There are nations coming together who will usher in a One World Religion. What’s the chances this new religion will be pushing the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Not very high, right?
But this isn’t a surprise to someone who reads their bible everyday; someone who is familiar with the teachings of Jesus. We are told that in the last days that people everywhere will turn their backs on the True God and follow the false teachings and false teachers. We are also told that in the last days that there will be great persecution for those who follow Jesus. Folks, this time is already upon us.
Satan is gaining traction within the governments and the people right now at an accelerated pace. Churches are being forced to alter their teachings to accommodate new beliefs and standards of society. School curriculum is changing from teachings of actual knowledge to teachings of feelings and acceptance. Society everywhere is working to remove biblical teachings, especially those of Jesus, as well as crosses and other biblical symbols.
But again, this is not a surprise to those who are paying attention. Jesus said these things shall come to pass. He also said that those who stay true to Him will have Life, and will not suffer death. Satan is the spirit of death; Jesus is the Spirit of Life. Sadly, for many, only time will tell; a time when it will be too late.
The world will be judged
“But all who reject me and my message will be judged on the day of judgment by the truth I have spoken.”
This Day of Judgment will come swiftly. It will happen and there won’t be any time to make changes to our beliefs. People scoff and ridicule us for preaching Christ Crucified, but it’s Christ Jesus Himself who will rule with an iron rod; it’s Him who will judge all according to what they have done, both good and evil.
2 Corinthians 5:10
“For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.”
Satan will make people believe that the “Christians” are bad and that they go against society. What’s sad is that Christians are called by God to Life, and we are then messengers for Christ to share the Good News that Jesus is the way to Salvation. We are not a violent group; we aren’t even called to judge people. We are only called to lovingly share our faith in Christ and to share about an eternity in Heaven and the way to that eternity. We are only saying what the bible says.
“Jesus told him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.’”
However, Satan knows this is very true. Because of this, he does what he can to prevent us from sharing the Truth. Why? Because if he can shut us down and deceive the people of the world, then he will succeed in bringing many with him to an eternal Hell. This will happen because all who refuse the Son will choose death.
“The smoke of their torment will rise forever and ever, and they will have no relief day or night, for they have worshiped the beast and his statue and have accepted the mark of his name.”
We must choose our destination
“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!”
This Scripture might be an Old Testament verse, but it holds much relevance today. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His Word never expires. What was taught in the Old Testament is a reflection of what is taught in the New Testament. The Ten Commandments of the Old Testament are summed up by one Commandment in the New Testament; to love one another.
Throughout the entire bible, warnings have been preached to follow Jesus, and that Jesus is the way. Many never accepted Jesus to be the actual Messiah that they were expecting. To this day, many are still waiting for their Messiah to show up. Well, He will; for the second time. He was here; He is here; He will be here.
We are told in the bible to stay alert, to keep watch. We are told about the signs of the times, and the signs of the heavens. We are given much description about what society will be like right before Jesus comes back. Turn on the news and grab a bible; it seems to all be coming together just fine.
God knows that this will all take place, both the good and the evil. That’s why the bible was written, and that’s why all the prophecies of the bible have and are being fulfilled exactly as written. If you want to know what’s coming, read the prophecies in the bible concerning end times. You won’t be disappointed.
Look, the choice is yours. If you are already a follower of Jesus, then what I’m saying is all just a reflection of what you already know. However, if you are reading this and have not committed to a life in Christ, take these words as a warning. Look into these things; read the bible; examine the prophesies. It’s your life and the path you choose is the one that will bring you to a destination; either Heaven or Hell.

The Lord has really been putting it on my heart lately to write about drawing near to God, repentance, and eliminating the sin in our lives. I think time is limited, according to Scripture, and I feel that we are in the moment to make some changes. I never used to watch signs of the times, but then again, the signs have never been one on top of another, like they are right now. I think this is why God’s Spirit in me is giving me this concern.
Take the devil seriously. He leads only to death. He has power to deceive those who aren’t paying attention and who aren’t rooted in Jesus. He has power over those who live in sin and who allow him into their lives.
But for all people; we can all choose to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and give Satan the boot out of our lives. The bible does mention that anyone who takes the “mark of the beast” will suffer with the beast. Educate yourselves.
Do yourselves a favor and don’t only look for teachings that feel good or sound good. Truth can hurt sometimes, but it’s the Truth that will set you free!
