In this world, we aren’t alone. Not just because there are other people and pets, but there is a spiritual world we can’t see. It’s always been there, and it happens whether we like it or not. But how many people are unaware that this spiritual realm exists? With each passing generation, fewer and fewer are being told about these things.

So, what we don’t know can’t hurt us, right?

Well, for some things, maybe. But not when it’s concerning the spiritual realm.

Ephesians 6:12
“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”

If our eyes were to be opened to the spiritual happenings around us, we would be amazed. Some might be terrified. There are countless stories of people who have witnessed this kind of stuff. Personally, I look forward to the day I get transformed and get to share in the eternal inheritance in the Heavenly Realm, but for now, I’m okay not seeing the spiritual battle around me.

The important thing to know is that there is a battle. It’s for our souls. If Satan wins, he brings us to Hell with him; if God wins, He brings us to Heaven with Him. Both are eternal. And, who can really fathom eternity? That person probably also understands infinity, then. But that is what God is; Eternal and Infinite.

We are best to side with God. Even if we don’t fully understand all this spiritual stuff, we are still better to side with God while we find out. The bible is a living book. Of course, if you don’t walk with Jesus, you might not understand how it’s a living book. But it is a living book and it’s God’s own words. God can see all things, especially future things, and He has written in the book that at the end of this spiritual battle, He wins.

3 Things the devil doesn’t want us to know

If you are already a Christian believer, most of what I talk about won’t come as a surprise. However, there are many believers who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, but still live a defeated life where they can’t seem to get any traction.

The devil is alive, and he is constantly looking for someone to devour. He looks for the weak and vulnerable and then he goes to work confusing them and breaking down their spirit.

In this article, I want to talk about a few things that he doesn’t want us to know. This includes potential believers, new believers, and even established believers. I know that it might seem odd that established believers might not know these things, but I will talk about that in a moment.

For now, here are three things that the enemy doesn’t want us to know:

  • God, Jesus, Satan, Heaven and Hell and Judgment Day are real
  • Jesus has power and authority over everything
  • Jesus forgives all sin

1. God, Jesus, Satan, Heaven and Hell and Judgment Day are real

Revelation 20:11-15
“And I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death. And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.”

To start, I just want to say that one of the reasons that there are established Christian believers who aren’t wise to Satan’s plans is because there are many teachers and preachers who aren’t teaching these things. There are too many preachers who would rather keep things nice and simple and keep the seats full in the church. But feeling good because we are being fed feel-good preaching isn’t going to help any of us on the coming Judgment Day.

Satan is working on us believers, and he is also working on the preachers, too. As I just mentioned that many churches today aren’t teaching on Hell or Judgment Day, this is the direct will of Satan. He knows that if he can make the church weak, then he can create division. At very least, even if there isn’t division, the people won’t be full in their knowledge of good and evil and they won’t be fully prepared for the Day of Judgment.

Also, the devil is confusing our society about what’s real and what’s not. Not only will Satan tell us that God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, Heaven, and Hell don’t exist; he will also tell us that he himself doesn’t exist. If Satan can make us believe that all of it is hogwash, then he knows that we are dead inside and already in his pocket. He knows that we are of no threat to him at this point. Satan loves atheists.

Many preachers have said this common phrase, but it’s true; “If the devil isn’t bothering you, you probably aren’t a threat to him.”

2. Jesus has power and authority over everything

Luke 10:19
“Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.”

In this verse, Jesus is telling us that He has given us power over the enemy. Who can give this kind of power? Only the one who has it.

Jesus does have this power. Power and authority over the world were given to us in the Garden of Eden. But due to the devil’s cleverness and deception, we believed his lies and gave into sin. At this point, we gave our power and rights over to Satan. We invited him into our lives and gave him the right to rule over us when we obeyed him and not God.

But God, in His infinite wisdom, sent Jesus, God the Son, to earth to live as a human with us and His purpose was to come and take the power back from Satan. He came to destroy death. He did this by taking our sins upon Himself and dying a sinner’s death on the cross. When God raised Him up on the third day, He then defeated Satan and took back the power.

Now, for anyone who believes and accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior, that person is washed clean of all sin with the blood that was shed on the cross. For that person, they instantly become victorious with Christ and share in His power, authority, and inheritance.

Jesus gives power and authority to His followers. This is the power needed to cast Satan and any of his unclean spirits off of us. This is the power that is needed to keep us upright in a fallen world. This is the power that Satan is trying to tell everyone that he has and that we are powerless against him. People; don’t believe this lie anymore.

When Satan is attacking you in any way, remind him of his future in Hell and send him away “In Jesus’ Name.”

3. Jesus forgives all sin

1 John 1:9
“But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”

The third thing here that Satan would have us believe is that we can’t be forgiven for our sins. That we are bad people who sin too much and that God won’t love and forgive us. This is a huge lie.

The bible is clear to tell us that Jesus forgives our sin. It tells us in this verse that not only will Jesus forgive us for our sins if we confess them to Him, but also, He will cleanse us from all wickedness. This means that He will wipe our slate clean and cast the enemy off us.

So, Satan knows that if we are wise to this, he would lose any and all power that we give him through ignorance.

We all have a past, and we are all sinners. Romans 3:23 tells us that we have all sinned and we all fall short of God’s glory. But God is a God of grace. Because His Son was obedient to His Plan, we can now have Christ’s righteousness in us, and we can be set free from the grips of the enemy.

No matter how much wrong you have ever done, Jesus will forgive. He has already forgiven us for all sin as He Himself took the full punishment for the sins we have committed. When He took our sins upon Himself, He was essentially pleading guilty on our behalf for all the wrong we have done or will do, and He was punished accordingly.

So, regardless of what Satan tries to tell us, our sin is dealt with. He lost his power. This is why Jesus said: “It Is Finished!”

Conclusion

Look, don’t let the liar into your heart. Don’t give him power that he doesn’t have. Understand that if you have Jesus Christ living in you, then you also possess the power and authority that He has given you over the enemy.

Education is key. True knowledge, wisdom, understanding, and discernment come from the only One True God. If we ask this of Him, He will pour it out on us in full measure. It will overflow. All we need to do is seek Him and ask.

James 1:5
“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”
